Cost to camp is $22 per camping unit per night. How to make camping payments before you arrive.
A Minnesota horse trail pass is required. Information is available at the kiosk at each of the campsites. Please complete the information, carry it with you and must be mailed in when you get home.
Trails are open to horses May 1 to October 31. No restriction for hikers. Bicycles and motorized vehicles are not allowed on the trails other than permitted events.
Shoes or hoof boots recommended. The heavily used trails have had gravel added for sustainability. Steep areas also have had gravel added to help with erosion problems.
The Zumbro River runs through the park. It is not safe for horses to cross the river. A bridge is available.
The river offers fishing, canoeing, kayaking and tubing.
The multi-use trails are shared by hikers, horseback riders and hunters. By special permit only, motorcycles are allowed 2 weekends a year, typically the weekends before Memorial Day and after Labor Day.
Zumbro Bottoms is a multi-use park. Hunting is allowed. When hunting season opens, the Central Campground may have several groups of small game hunters and bow hunters. Bicycles and motorized vehicles are not allowed on the trails other than permitted events.
